Put simply, the answer to “Does your male bathroom need an incontinence unit?” Is YES!
Let’s face it, the topic of male incontinence is kept on the down low. Incontinence makes sufferers feel embarrassed and undignified and not the sort of thing you discuss with the fellas after a round of golf or enjoying your regular drink and a catch up. Not to mention, around 70% of men won’t even talk to their doctor about it.
Speaking from a female perspective, most women are kind of used to it, not that it’s any less difficult to deal with but we can expect when we walk in a bathroom that there will be a sanitary and a nappy unit available to us, in pretty much every public bathroom we enter.
Males, on the other hand, don’t always have these facilities and it can be very daunting disposing of incontinence items. We’ve also heard mention of soiled items being left on bathroom floors as there was nowhere to dispose of them discreetly. From men whom I have personally spoken to, they’ve often said they wait until the coast is clear so no one can see them. How difficult and unnecessary is that?
